Many University of Delaware Library resources must be accessed from our network address range. University students and employees can access them from off campus by going through the proxy server. They can login to the proxy service using their UDelNet ID and password:
Users can also install a
UD proxify button in their web browser. This "button" is a bookmark that asks the UD proxy server to reload the web page the user is viewing:
Users can also manually
proxify a real URL or
unproxify a URL (to get the real URL for citations, for example):
The proxy server is accessed via non-standard network ports; web traffic is normally sent on ports 80 and 443, but the proxy server uses ports 2048 and above. If your computer has a firewall it may be blocking some of the ports that the proxy server requires:
